In my last post, I described my incredible experience in Niigata for the spring season together with my husband, Devin Swanson, as newlyweds. Since then, so many things have happened and I feel each event deserves at least a little mention before I resume my postings on the latest updates in the Koi World. I don’t want to keeps expectations too high, but I will try to get it down in text over the next few days (weeks?). Posting everything in one go would have serious word overload. 😉
2013 has marked a serious milestone in Kois and Ponds history as we celebrated our 20th year anniversary of our company! (woot woot!) The event was held in Kois and Ponds, Quezon City, which was the birthplace of TOMiGAi Koi Food. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who participated in our Annual Philippine Koi Show event and a special congratulations to all the winners of our show! Once again, this year our reigning champions for the Philippine Koi Show and the Kois and Ponds Cup are Dr. Michael Romero and Mr. Nelson Castro, respectively.
I am also proud to say that at the All-Japan Shinkokai Show, Devin Swanson judged together with my father, Michael Hernandez and I had the distinct pleasure of covering the event as a special Koi USA correspondent. I have written an article describing my All-Japan Koi Show experience and submitted it to the publication for release in the May/June issue of Koi USA Magazine, so please watch out for that!
Last month, two members of our TOMiGAi Koi Food Family had simultaneous events in California and Minnesota. Â Shawn of Mystic Koi celebrated the culmination of his grow out event with a Koi show judged by representatives from Omosako Koi Farm, Taniguchi Koi Farm and Beppu Koi Farm while Devin Swanson held his annual Open house event with new Jumbo tosai from various farms in Japan.
My father and I have begun visiting various Koi shows as well all over the United States, most recently the Greater Louisville Koi and Goldfish Society Koi Show. Â It was a wonderful show and we will be posting photos from that koi show as well on our website over the next few days, so please watch out for that as well!
In a nutshell, I am very grateful for the past year and it would not have been the same without our wonderful Koi Friends, so a big thank you to all the people who have supported and blessed us with the gift of friendship, and I will be posting again soon! 🙂
