Happy Sunday everyone! Spring has finally arrived in Minnesota and it looks like it’s here to stay (yes, I realize that I might be counting my chickens before they hatch once again). The warming weather is quite the welcome respite from this year’s long and hard winter and I for one am so pleased to exchange the dull grey skies and white blanket of snow for long days of warm sunshine and green lawns. Time for spring cleaning!
In the Koi community, everyone seems to be abuzz with activity. Already so many shows have taken place and this May there are a lot more events all over the country to look forward to. Just yesterday my parents, Michael and Gleci, attended the Pondpalooza event of Mike Przewoznik from Sumner Avenue Water Gardens and from the photos that I saw on facebook, it looks like everyone had an absolute blast. My parents even got to meet Dog the Bounty Hunter from the reality tv show! So, congratulations to Mike for hosting such a successful event, and thank you so much for believing in TOMiGAi!
I was really sorry to have missed the event, but Devin and I have been quite preoccupied preparing for our own even here in Minnesota. In less than weeks’ time, Koi Acres’ will be holding their annual open house spring sale and we are pretty excited to share this year’s Koi selection with everyone. Pretty much all the activity will happen on Saturday this year to allow everyone to participate in all the activities instead of having to rush home on Sunday. Papa and Shawn will be flying in to support the event, so I’m really excited to have them over!
In addition to the Jumbo Tosai that Devin usually has available for sale in the Spring, this year he’s stepping up and bringing his A-game to the table. Next week we will be having a few very special nisai Koi available for sale! When he purchased these Koi, Devin opted to focus of quality rather than the quantity of Koi to bring in and I have to say that these are some really awesome looking fish… Also, we are preparing a little fun activity for everyone this weekend in lieu of Koi seminars that I’ve been anxious to hold for some time now!
I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone again at the various Koi events this year! Till then…
