In order to keep procrastination from creeping up on me, I decided blog about the show while at the show! 😉
Guess who came to the show this morning? Â Head Judge Michael Hernandez!!
Papa looking so dapper and at his best! 🙂  We were so thrilled and honored by Bryan Bateman’s invitation when he asked Papa to be head judge at this year’s Koi show and we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Midwest Pond and Koi Society.
This weekend the judging team at the MPKS Koi show will be headed by my father, Michael Hernandez, together with Michael Frady (ZNA) , Ray Alexander and Terri Alexander (Candidate Judges).  I’ll be sure to post more action shots later of them judging. 🙂
They have some really nice trophies courtesy of Sherri Lynn Art this year.
Sherri Lynn is actually Troy Head’s wife, who we see every year at the Louisville Koi Show. Â What I didn’t realize was that she was such an amazing artist. Â The best in Variety Trophies are actually her interpretation as an artist of each of the varieties they represent. Â I thought it was a really cool concept that manages to connect people who are both in the Koi hobby and those who might eventually fall in love with Koi.Â
I also liked these best in Size trophies:
Isn’t that cool? I would love to have one of those on my work desk.
Some of the other trophies:
Of course I was very happy to see the smiling faces of my wonderful TOMiGAi Retailers! Â Father-and-son team Ron and Mike Weynschenk of Southwest Koi and Goldfish serving the Illinois area came in full support of their show.
Check out their spread!
Visiting all the way from Greenville, South Carolina we have Kevin and Tonya!
And finally.. Koi Acres!!!
Will more photos of Koi again later!
